Multi-core is bad for Supercomputers

With no other way to improve the performance of processors further, chip makers have staked their future on putting more and more processor cores on the same chip. Engineers at Sandia National Laboratories, in New Mexico, have simulated future high-performance computers containing the 8-core, 16‑core, and 32-core microprocessors that chip makers say are the future of the industry. The results are distressing. Because of limited memory bandwidth and memory-management schemes that are poorly suited to supercomputers, the performance of these machines would level off or even decline with more cores. The performance is especially bad for informatics applications—data-intensive programs that are increasingly crucial to the labs’ national security function.

High-performance computing has historically focused on solving differential equations describing physical systems, such as Earth’s atmosphere or a hydrogen bomb’s fission trigger. These systems lend themselves to being divided up into grids, so the physical system can, to a degree, be mapped to the physical location of processors or processor cores, thus minimizing delays in moving data.

But an increasing number of important science and engineering problems—not to mention national security problems—are of a different sort. These fall under the general category of informatics and include calculating what happens to a transportation network during a natural disaster and searching for patterns that predict terrorist attacks or nuclear proliferation failures. These operations often require sifting through enormous databases of information.

Blown away

I had to recollect my memories of the past when I wrote about the renowned Pablo Escobar, the drug mafia who made the USA what it is now. The Tooth Ache

My particular left pre-molar tooth was giving me quite a lot of problem, for the past one year because I had a tooth coming in front of it because of teeth overgrowth problems. Since the days I had been a small kid, this overgrown tooth in front of the normal pre-molar, caused slow but considerable amount of decay and when I realized severe pain when I consulted a dentist, I came to know that I was in a position to remove off those teeth.

I first heard of this organization this year when I was watching one Tamil movie named "Sathum Podathey" in which the villain (who happens to be the ex-husband of the heroine played by the young actor Nitin Satya) forces to quit alcohol. Pripyat the Ghost City

I have been playing Call of Duty for the past one week, and mind it, its one of the best games with an amazing plot to start with in recent times. Apart from the master of games, the one and only Hideo Kojima's creation Metal Gear Solid series no other game has ever captivated me so much as Call of Duty 4. I was moved by the plight of the entire city which was evacuated post Chernobyl explosion.

We all know about Chernobyl and find it amazing to talk about it continuously, but the actual victim because of the mishap in the control room was another city called Pripyat, Ukraine. This city which is commonly referred these days as a ghost town full of radiation pockets was once the most peaceful city, some 20 years back when I was born it had almost everything that a ultra-modern city should have.

But all of a sudden, one dull night every person's dream has been shattered and the entire city was evacuated within 3 hours, and the people didn't even know that they cannot return to their homes ( at least for another 600 years)!!!

Such is the intensity of explosion that had occured as a result of Nuclear fuels. That could destroy even a highly advanced city(in those standards) which had top-notch architects designing its blue prints.

What could happen if the same disaster surfaces elsewhere.. in India.. in Tamil Nadu !!!

The nuclear warhead missile

No matter how long we talk about Peace among countries and the safety of people which is at stake because of the increasing arms developments and the race towards a super(destructive)power of the world. I recently read an article on a nuclear ballistic missile which is called as the M51 SLBM or simply M51.

I couldn't force myself from thinking about the words of President Bush, that war can bring about peace, and the race for arms is to not use them. These words are just the outcome from the mouth, which can be trained to speak in which ever way we need it to. But this particular word from a person with such a power in the international level, is totally demeaning to his position and also lets the stake of the nation in mere shambles.

I feel this way because of the fact that this M51 or 52 or what ever crap they design has a nuclear warhead and carried in the navy. So, safely the countries owning the missiles be at the safe place when it can cause considerable destruction to the enemy nations. Every stage engine of the missile M51 derives from the propellant boosters of Ariane 5. So, naturally the impact is so bad that I don't know where this un-ceasing wars and firearm race will lead the world to

The easy money...

I have played games which involve money and how to earn it. Not only that, there were games in which money is spent like water, even though I consider water is even more precious these days. A perfect example of a game is Mafia Boss which is played online by millions of users. In this game, everyone take turns in creating a whole lot of crime underboss and thugs and hitmen so as to provide support and kill enemies. The money spent on them is huge, and you cannot imagine someone spending so much for a killing.

There are cases in which you require to transport your men from one place to another, and hijack planes or steal cars from the garage, which requires your men to be happy. For this, or in fact to just keep your men happy, you require tonnes and tonnes of coke, weed and of course girls. You can get money so fast that you cannot even think about an alternate way by allowing your girls to earn cash for you. You can sell of the drugs you make illegally and obtain an enormous profit out of it. All these are intertwined in real life.

A general mafia family, has a Boss, a Conceirge who is his secondary in command apart from having some Underbosses who are trained to be the future boss, of the same of different clan. Finally comes the Soldiers or the Thugs who are hired by the crime lord for undertaking their business. Every person need enough arms so as to protect themselves from their opponents. So, in essence everything needs a lot of money. And the only way to get it is through drugs. I feel its a great disgrace to mankind that people spend on wasteful means throughout their lifetime.

Scarface - The Scar on Earth's face

Once again, in this movie called Scarface which obviously talks about a person who is totally rude and barbaric from the name of the movie itself. It is also related to drugs mafia and firearms. I find it almost hard to digest the fact that people like such act because there is a particular forum available for discussing the best mafia and crime-lord movies. Soon people will be interested in starting a forum for the best terrorists around and start praising them a lot.

This movie of course concentrates on a Cuban small time criminal who has an ambition to make more profits and more money which makes him come to America. But lucky for him, e comes there at the time when Cuba had already sent a lot of such people to Miami. So, with all the support from the government and his will power, he settles down at Miami and has his own plans to get a job and work somewhere or anywhere so he'll get some more money than he used to get for washing dishes. He goes on to discovers an incredible potential of money and power in trading and dealing with drug, which makes him think to start a small drug empire around him.

Al Pacino is the other person whom we are talking about in this section who has inspired many criminals into drug dealing and squandering money. Thanks to him.

Those Gay Guns

G3/SG1

This is the first gay gun used in CS, and most of them kick you from the server if you happen to use it on them, and more importantly on the server admin. Even I hate this gun, if some noob fuck starts using it in the map which I play. Its worse than hacking into the server and making a whole lot of mess. This gun is costly first of all, and second it has both advantages of a slower Rifle and Sniping capacity.

SG550

This is yet another gay gun more like the counter part called as the G3, particularly used by the terrorists, this gun is also found so rarely in Counter Strike, especially in pro servers and game fanatics. Don't think that this gun is all great for its cheaper and has a combined effect of a sniper and a rifle. This gun sucks big time, and in the time you zoom and unzoom and locate your target, you would find yourself dead and spectating other players. Dump the idea of going for this gun and try AWP instead.

USP .45 vs Glock18 vs Desert Eagle

Alternate weapons or secondary weapons in CS is the pistol, and its a shame that we cannot use two primary weapons like in CoD4 where you can exchange a pistol with any good ( a really good alternative) gun. But nevertheless, we can stalk in for a comparison between the three most sought after guns in CS.

The first gun or USP is what the CTs start with initially and people consider it to be the best pistol for accurate aiming, and excellent ammunition capacity. Further, its silencer is added advantage, although its not of a great use in combat (close combat usually) where pistols are generally used. So my call for USP, is a OK rating. Lets have a look at the Ts Glock weapon.

Its obviously a dumber and sick weapon than the one used by the CTs. But its larger clip with more number of bullets keeps the terrorists rocking and rolling continuously. The secondary fire sucks but the kills instantly if the enemy is very close, while the primary fire is super fast, and I like the way it is.

And last but not the least, comes the most powerful pistol in CS game. I'd suggest you throw other guns which you start off with and get this gun no matter what. It has an amazing power and thrust that will kill enemies instantly. Guess what, with that thrust, it can penetrate walls and bust their asses. People call this gun as a hand cannon, and I would'nt beg to disagree.

Sub-Machine Guns in CS

There are 5 submachine guns available for your use in terms of CT and T you can access upto four guns of the entire lot. These guns are given as follows in the entire description, although it would not be so detailed, it will give some idea on which to use.

The MP5 gun is the most used smg, if you cant afford to get a proper assault rifle, then go for it. It has good power and accuracy apart from being so handy in case of close combats.

The other gun called TMP is the basic weapon, similar to the glock, and a silenced gun but if you kill someone with this gun, both you and him will burst into laughter. However, instead of getting this gun due to money constraints, you can go for a Desert Eagle which has more power than this sleazy weapon.

The gun called as CQB is probably best in terms of fighting in mid-ranges and I find it extremely useful for its amazing accuracy and rate of firing. If you got caught in some closed regions with this gun,... only god can save you with a lag in the opponents computer.

End of the Escobar Rule

What I mean by these posts is that cocaine not only kills the person who uses it, but also the one who sells it (or even manufacture it or traffic it.. as in this case). Killing of heroes in Latin America is common practice, because most of the people doesn't call them heroes or kings but just mafia or terrorists.
The survivors of the Medellin's Cartel is Pablo's cousin José Obdulio Gaviria and an active member George Jung who is now retired from that business, after much of rehab by his charismatic father. The latter part of the drug lord Pablo's life was literally a hell. The war that Escobar waged against the world single-handedly came to a sudden still during the Winter of 1993, when he was shot to death by several officers when he tried to elude the Search Bloc.

After the death of Pablo, everything was lost. The world renowned drug organization known as Medellín Cartel is now fragmented and the entire cocaine market was controlled by rival Cali Cartel, till the members of this group were killed too a few years later !!!

I will talk in detail about Cali Cartel in detail after sometime, because I want to concentrate on the harmful effects of Alcohol this time.

The Medellin Cartel

As I mentioned earlier about the drug empire the lord had started, which was named as Medellin Cartel, name after the Columbian city Medellin. The cartel got their pride only after the murder of a well known drug dealer in 1975 by Pablo. This act plummeted their reputation to new heights and people started fearing the Cartel. Slowly but steadily people like George Jung, José Gonzalo Rodríguez Gacha, Carlos Lehder amidst others joined the Cartel, although with a bit of fear during the initial stages of their association for the fear of Pablo. He was a tyrant whom even his close associates would'nt want to meddle with.

But this one man called Carlos Lehder was initially the associate of George Jung and introduced him into the business. He later on went to become a serious crime boss, almost overtaking Pablo himself with his cunning mind and knack for stealing from Medellin friends and backstabbing them. He was the vital part of the group, although Escobar continued to skim forward his prowess and was elected as deputy/alternate representative to the Chamber of Congress.

Escobar's drug deals gained even more popularity with George Jung who introduced the wide American market which crave for coke, marijuana and other drugs during the 1980s. El Cartel de Medellín, the local name for the Cartel had the hand for almost 80% of the drugs that had entered the United States, Mexico, apart from other nearby nations from the Columbian fields. He apart from being just a ruthless killer, became an expert in testing the purity of the goods which made him sustain soooo long in the field. Escobar's product reached many other nations, mostly around the Americas, although it is said that his network reached as far as Asia.

The Good Fellas!!

I saw this movie over a dozen times and am really inspired by Ray Liotta who played the role of the young boy Henry Hill, aspiring to become a mafia right from his childhood. Luckily for him he is amidst the gang for the most part of his childhood, but that is not the case for me. He wants to own his personal gun and make the people around him scream for their life out of fear that he might take their lives off in a split second.

I cannot own a gun (or until recently) because of the native place from where I came prohibit civilian usage of weapons of any sort. Anyways, coming back to the story, Ray Liotta who is now a young crime lord steadily grows up among the other lords within the master organization lead by the lead Mafia overlord. In due course of time, he gets married to a beautiful wife, although those people tend to end their relationship with the woman they marry so frequently that they will have to spend half their lifetime looking for new wives. However, this couple wanted to be together, but unfortunately their fate is decided by their community.

Everyone including his wife and dearest of his friends betray him successively and he is in a position not to trust anymore and in his own mafia world. He looks for alcohol and tobacco as his alternative for pacifying himself and followes all illicit means to survive in the turbulent world of mafia and crime bosses.

Arms galore

The weapons people use can be classified in to a whole f***in range starting from a small hand knife to a nuke weapon. In other ways I can talk about weapons used in ancient world to the modern warfare or even future weapons, and so on the classification goes to an endless argument. Right now, people in India are not supposed to use weapons indiscriminately, which is a good sign for everyone living in this country.

But nations around the world permit their citizens to possess firearms freely and of course with a stupid identification known as the license. Its not a small rat-bike or a mini-car that could be handled by anyone, but a device which takes the life away from a person. No matter what, people keep on using them to safeguard themselves. Hmmm, I feel that is a lame excuse for anyone who wish to show his/ her anger on any outsider. Rather than keeping it as a safety measure, they tend to use it on people, and that is the main reason for all the destruction, troubles and concern among people. If it is banned from the use of civilians, then there will never be a reason to have it ( even for personal safety).
