June 12th 2008!! the air is stifling..
the stadium is filled with noise..
people shouting their lungs out..
the stands dipped in an orange dye..
flags waving..
an electric atmosphere..
legends enter the field with their heads held high..
its holland versus france..
a big game..
the scenario is simple..
holland win and they are through to the quarter finals..
france kick off with nervousness in their legs..
holland head off to a bright start..
10 minutes into the game holland win a corner..
the ball flies in and kuyt with all the determination in the world heads it home!!
first blood to holland!!
malouda who was marking kuyt was not up for the challenge..
the striker proved too much for the winger..
jus let the ball fly by and kuyt took full advantage!! just to remind you ppl..
this post is not about the match as such..
its all about the second goal scored by the flying dutchmen!! amazing..
such a pleasantry to watch..
ruud van nistelrooy as always was the architect of this outrageous goal..
it all started with a deft little touch from the holland number 9..
first a drag with his right foot and a flick with his left..
a 360!! wowa!! wat a pleaser that was..
that was wat spurred the flying dutchmen forward!!
amazing follow up by robben..
picks up the 360..
and jus skims across the surface like as though he is some dementor from the harry potter world..
his feet never seemed to touch the ground..
his feet never stopped moving..
he ran..
closing in on the d box..
lifted his head up and saw kuyt and van persie giving him support in the middle..
opting for the long pass robben looked down and sprayed one across the floor of the field..
and it was a simple side footer for persie..
coupet didnt know much about it..
the ball hit his hand..
he was able to take the pace off the ball..
but that wasnt enough..
the ball crawled into the goal while all poor gallas could do was writhe his face in agony..
this was an amazing orange connection..
